welcome to Prairie cough I'm Nora the janitor on today's episode I talk with all six members of vanity plate and the Juniper drive after they get back from their tour to the west coast that turn yours down enough that's good I don't think we'll be doing much yelling here anyways Zacks not pointing freak out you guys just beat up on each other forever it's about damned if you're a van humor is that wrong yeah this is the therapy session yeah Evan you gotta stop yeah remember that first moment in the van when I yelled at you for the very first time oh yeah that was a Dale's place I was like if you slurp I think it's the bottom line I year oh here one more time I'm going to stab you see already loud you just turned it up turning it up poor Evan was lasers it was like the first time he's down the Beast myself very well you did dog man he's like a nightmare I know so should we should we pretend like we just sat down Oh you guys in the years I was your walkabout for three years it's great you look like you lost weight buddy yeah so I'm walking dude Wow when walking all right I'm sitting here with North Dakota bands the Juniper drive vanity play it Dewey I don't know what should we go around and circle everybody introduce yourself sure can I do that you can start Jensen hi my name is Jasmine Schultz and I'm a vanity plate my name is actuals and I am a Scorpio hello Nora and inventively thanks for having me on Prairie goth I'm Blake Berbick from vanity plate and the Juniper drive I'm a Joshua Thornton Graham's replacement yeah vanity plate in the Juniper drive my name is Robert Kramer and I am from the Juniper drive my name is Evan morganson I play bass in the Juniper drive but you might remember me from my stint in Nora and the janitors and Lawrence Jennifer and I am give us the full name Evan oh did I just know Evan morgenson LJ name what Lawrence Jennifer and the sopping wet puss if you wanted the real reason how you get we're the reason oh fuck well so you guys just got back from well you're still kind of on tour but you pretty much you got back to North Dakota like yesterday yep like that thank you all for coming in Robert has to go Mike but we got we got a few minutes to I just want to talk like two stories and stuff kind of feel out what your damn lives have been like for the last like what three weeks right kind of kind of like four because I'm not like I asked for because you had on you had like a week up in Minot yeah yep yeah yeah so the the plan was you know Josh hadn't practiced with us yet and he had just quit his job and Rob Evan Josh and I had decided we're gonna go up for a week in Minot and practice and it ended up being like maybe 20% practice the rest of the time was like Donkey Kong nice aliens hanging out on the deck playing frisbee with or oh yeah that was yeah that was a pretty fun night we evident I got the same girl actually through two separate dating apps it was on tinder I was on bumble bumble bumble dee dee Cutler what's Cutler it's just it's tinder about just cuddling no but I'm gonna download it right now anyway anyways yeah she to us up to strangers picked up in my nod to go get a couple drinks with and we went to a pub in downtown Minot was Eponine max nice way in there yeah max was doing a mic night or something yeah yes and we just got a couple drinks everything was I don't know we were having a good time just chatting and stuff and come around like closer to bar close chin ups giving us a ride back and she said her limit was like three beers or something or whatever yeah yeah that she was probably driving over the limit but she yeah it was she she she gave us a ride back to the house and um it's also important to note that it was raining all day in Minot all day yeah which is kind of out of the ordinary and she took a wrong turn on the way back to Zach and Jasmine's house nice and somehow she ended up on what would normally be like just a small like grassy knoll or something barreling through this and since it had been raining all day an absolute muddy mess and her car got stuck in heaven and I for about 15-20 minutes tried pushing it out just no luck and well I got a culture play or something and she's just wailing up in the front she's driving around with two strangers in the middle of the night in her car stuck and she's got to work in the morning and by some miracle it got out and never and I got a little muddy oh she dropped us off back and it was a good day no not the first double date Evan and I have gone on together with one girl yeah - uh - any ladies listening out there if you match with either Josh RI on tinder just keep in mind for a package deal oh yeah you have to pick us up - yeah okay well so you guys have fun in mine huh and you you went up there and you like practiced for like kind of practice for a week and then no we hit it hard I was I was joking we like he was he was like boot camp for us didn't you have like one I remember hearing about you telling me about Blake about a long day where like you're doing like not maybe not eight hours but like yeah I'm trying to think what I told you about that you told me Josh was suffering minor no like whatever is fine oh I'm never in Seattle we played for like nice played a show afterwards it was like a rest day but it was really yeah so what happened is Evan somehow forgot that we were taking a week in mine what happened was so we took this week off and Evan came back from college and and he could only come up for a couple days so on those days off we just hit it hard with the Juniper Drive I'm trying to think of what I told you it's just that it was difficult just a lot of practice playing because yeah it was did you guys end up you played at Planet pizza didn't you oh yeah no the high school kids were just hogging that yeah where did you play because he had like a tour kickoff show - yeah that was at 62 or art collective down there and it was just as great we had some traveling acts - from Wisconsin and Minnesota they were pretty cool they were really nice and awesome and just a good was a good night all around Daniel raccoon played with Emily and yeah it was a lot of people there who was fun now saying at me before we start like travelling around the country on nerd on your tour stops because Robert has to go do you have any highlights you want to talk about oh man I was not expecting that question you know I think I just really enjoyed meeting a bunch of cool people including Ben oh yeah it's like who's incredible right Molly who's pretty cool let's see Marriott was awesome Colin is amazing dude Colin yeah Colin what what a boy that is I know he's a prince he's not a boy he's a man parents made a hell of a man and then also just like I had forgotten just the diversity of landscapes out west oh sure I saw you know mountains and like you know 100-foot tall trees and desert and Rocky Mountains I don't know just seeing all those different places in such a short period of time playing shows every night was fuckin awesome and didn't wear on me like I thought it would it was just yeah the whole thing was pretty amazing are you excited to her again sometime yeah yeah definitely like oh man like I'd like to next year or something cool yeah yeah getting the van again yeah yeah you got to gotta get out get out get out in fucking bands you know I like I know some of the I've heard some tour stories for you guys but if there's if there was one that I would would pick off the top of my head I want to hear about getting drunk in Portland oh man because Zack was telling me that story last night it's pretty good talk about getting drunk in Portland yeah sure my perspective is probably a little different just the main thing is you guys played at a bar yeah we played played a place called Bracken's with some friends of ours from originally from Michigan but they all kind of moved to Portland Nicole wet-nurse and they're really great go and Matt Bullock II he makes pickups for me occasionally he's got his own company and a really great guy and and everything and great bass player and just a cool band and anyway we played with them and another band and we just it was just is a bar you know so we're all having fun whatnot and at the end of the night we're kind of wrapping up and and you know downtown Portland you know like pretty you know we're not really that close to where we're staying or anything so we're gonna have to drive over and like everyone's having a good time and we're just over by the the van Blake Josh and jazz and I and some other people and I'm like all right I think we're gonna think we're gonna go probably and I kind of look around and I look up and Evan and Rob and some other people that were there are just like walking down the street and around the corner and I was like what was what's going on Rob where are you going he just turns around goes we're going around the corner get drink at this point well that's happening I guess okay we'll just stay here then downtown Portland like 1:30 in the mic it was much less clear where they were actually going I feel on the corner all we knew like how long are you gonna be around the corner we don't know what are you doing around the corner Evan was so far gone Evan Evan was so was so far gone in fact that he had my water bottle I can't remember why he had it but we were walking around the corner I was with Joe in front of Evan and Evan apparently just didn't fucking feel like carrying my water mo any more in the parking lot just sat it down there but he didn't know where he left it you guys came back and you came back and we had to look for it a little bit where's my water bottle and he's like I just didn't want Carrie I just put it down so I just put it down on the wall why the fuck didn't you like you that's a great question why were you carrying it in the first place of it I don't do me yeah I don't know I mean I had been drunk for like four hours at that we should preface this by saying we went to a bar Kade that night that afternoon we came into Portland and I'm like we got like three or four hours to kill maybe I'm giving too much time I don't know and we're like well let's hit up a bar Kade we haven't done that yet and Rob just quote-on-quote accidentally got drunk it was genuinely by accident I didn't know how strong that beer was so I was drinking some my beer picked up a beer and I was like this is a porter I was drinking I yeah this is a stranger's beer and then I got another beer because I thought I can handle this playing video games quickly realized oh shit this is really strong beer and I'm drunk and yeah the name continued on from there and then we got drink tickets at the restaurants I had to drink their exact and Jasmine don't drink either so they gave us our tickets so naughty yes so the woman distributed the woman gave me three drink tickets and then gave me Josh's three drink tickets which I later found out Josh already got three Jasmine gave me tickets then Evan rolled tequila shots out yeah cars because I love you and show us her yes yeah Joe Haeg yeah did he get smashed with you guys I couldn't tell if he was drunk but he was having fun do you at school I'm so jealous I love Joe he's Iceland III think I knew this before but yeah it's crazy how much Joe reminds me of your dad and Billy's first like they have the same aneurysms they talk like dude it's weird it's so strange it was so nice to see him cuz he he's just doing really well you know playing in his bands all the time like they have a sweet studio they're nice what's his band was it the pearls yeah the pearls is one of them rose that's like this Americana group he's in but I think he's in a few groups out there oh good yeah fuck yeah what's the noise House called again he told me oh um the shack yeah I think yeah I think they like gutted it out and then I quit like a huge sound system in there nice and so now it's just like the shack times two Oh any other Portland things we can got stolen oh we will get him was awesome mmm-hmm stay at her floor and bed yeah we didn't talk about right and then we woke up hungover and Zach and Jasmine made us breakfast and Miriam had gotten her tonsils removed and well so that night we came home and like I don't know after you guys got a drink around the corner we got and we we got there like two or something I'm guessing took us so long to park the van and get Oliver you're upstairs drop some drum hardware on my toe oh yeah oh you're right you brought all your gear in yeah she recommended that just because it's kind of inner-city Portland and and so they start watching like YouTube and then all of a sudden like flight of the conchords comes on and I mean what time did you even go to bed we will Miriam and I stayed up to like I think like 5:30 or something watching flicks and she had the appointment at 6:30 a really good Polaroid of him all over her sprawled out is he literally like with spread-eagle it's a double studio so it's occupying my bed pretty much make sure it was great did you sleep up there - I think you did I did for a little bit yeah and then I got down on my mat after laughter heaven full house oh yeah and then she she went and got her tonsils taken out and then when she came back we were still there hi whatever they gave oxy as a prescription but so then they dropped her off and like they didn't fill her prescription and so she was gonna go back out on her own no yeah II thought she didn't have her and like the they thought the doctors had sent an electronic prescription and so like they didn't realize that she had it in her hand and she was so high that she was falling asleep at the corner so she didn't know she had it either and so later we took her back that was sort of like we drove her around for a while to get her prescription because she was just like she seriously was falling asleep at the at the table a trophy and like wherever we would put her she would rock on and she was falling asleep yeah she was giving directions and she's like right oh I just fell asleep it was a microsleep it was incredible you had to bring her with it like with us because she was getting alright like oxycodone so like yeah I think they would give it to us if she wasn't there so like so she just like had to like for like an hour because then of course when we got there they were like well it's gonna take a half hour to fill it shit so then we had we went and got coffee with her she was just like falling asleep at the table I don't for Miriam anyways it's great it was real trooper yeah she was a real tear and the whole time she was like I'm just sorry I'm falling asleep and we were like this is fine you're you're fine but so yeah Miriam the princess yep should we show you jump back to early earlier to yourself you wanna talk about Mozilla sure yeah you be where did you play in arena yeah nice right across the street from that garage yeah last time great yeah so so how was how was Gengar though it was some really great like that that day that show like cuz we played by not and twice and it was pretty fun and then played a few Montana shows that were that were good and like when we got to Missoula it was like just the best it was or really felt like it really began yes yeah we got to hang out with and Simon I stayed with him who is a great friend and just an all-around great guy and see his dog Franny so many good dogs also of course he does yes - yeah workshops and stuff and now he lives there were used to that show was just really great you know been played as well and a lot of traveling acts plays including one person that booked us in Boulder oh really yeah he was playing that same show with us and he's like I happen to be on tour when you guys are there but his name's Micah last name we spent a lot of the day just hanging out in the park in the Sun which was nice and so forth people you know they cool hey Molly you guys got a chance to catch up with Molly and I got a chance to know Molly and then Benin and Zach and I kinda sad over yeah all talked around was it this was the same time as camp days right yeah yep did you check that out or were you playing like I didn't did you did you did you play like a light show yeah camp days went I think still like two like two in the morning so I was like it was in competition honestly yeah kind of worried about that and then like right before it was vanity plate up first that night right yeah like right before you guys played all of a sudden it's like holy shit there's like 35 people at the house when like two minutes ago there was like more fun it's good cool I love hearing about good house shows cuz it's like they're special you know Logan - I totally forgot his sugar gliders love that guy got us free coffee the next day and everything just just a Bismarck gem we saw a reef - yeah yeah and it's always good to see that guy that's a regional Sewer rainbow patriot oh yeah I haven't seen you since years like in high school so evidencing him for long time yeah it was cool you know I I hadn't seen him since he moved from Bismarck in 2011 huh Wow is he is he playing anything gay please oh actually haven't played on a standard Basin only had three strings yes it was just kind of impromptu yeah I don't remember you know it was it was a reef their roommate Chris and and then they usually have a basis but he was like out or something so I've been filled in haven't just improved yeah and it was like Gordian fiddling her and yet has no babies yes I was like yeah very pretty cool so Gengar it was sweet and then you stayed with Ben yeah can can it so we all know who Ben is yeah but people listening probably don't know who Ben is how how can you describe then Geppetto yeah III described them as Geppetto with his Pinocchio instruments Josh here at your you're reacting badly to that that was the first time I heard that that word actually yeah Geppetto its Geppetto the guy who made Pinocchio dude that was his name Geppetto Wow yeah it sounded like a slur I can understand venez an instrument builder he builds instruments out of things that he finds so old pianos and then also Bill it's like a guitar that has like a keyboard drum machine drum machine in it what's he like built into it with yeah you didn't that was this thing when he came through the first time he had this guitar that he built that it's got you know it's huge it's like you know Oh wide and it's got it's like a guitar Bert has a drum machine built in a keyboard like a synth has a mic that has the speaker yeah so he's got his own yeah he's got his own like unit it's just this whole thing and he would just play that in tour with that and it's just really cool drums and he makes everybody of different instruments my favorite when I saw I was like he has a guitar that sounds like it's like got people cut out of it and there's a light that turns on and then inside the woodwork is like little antique people that are like inside the guitar the epoxy mini IRC door me um and there it's just really cool Wow yeah he just does do not explain it to you lived in New York for a while he once built a tongue drum for Paul Simon and gave it to him yeah so I mean he just is so beyond just being super talented is just like a super nice guy and we love Franny and he's like the sweetest friend our diver and like genuinely like not not fake sweet he's like nice really truly nice guy nice he's kind of great and super talented yeah does it make a big deal out of himself but good yeah yeah and who's your first time meeting him Yeah right yeah cool didn't I see something you were like we're recording some of this poetry or something no yes so he his performance was he played one of his was it a wind hurt was just a heart yeah yeah that's saying in the wind yeah he realized later yes on you by the way so good that shirt looks great on you by the way it's a great shirt Ben's been he's both his performance yeah so he brought he brought a harp and like a lot of his poetry and he would just play and we would each one of us like recited one of his poems huh and he like played under it was a harp he had just built yes herps know as well and he's a poet and a poet an incredible poet huh country was grateful I was really good huh oh well that sounds magic that was Missoula had some good food and no Indian Oh Mexican the next day Mexican the next day you know there's a lot of inside jokes happening right yeah I can I can feel it some of them might pick up and some of them I'm just like okay after Missoula you said what happened in Yakima a heat wave happened in Yakima yeah the entire time we were in Washington like I doubt it got below like 95 degrees which is crazy because I have a weird perception of what that area is now because apparently just rains a lot but in my mind it's the Hollister honest like most beautiful I mean mountainous non rainy place ever at least Eastern Washington okay yeah before we like went over the cast ads then it got like be like just it was perfect but it was still hot and still Oh still fucking high well Yakima it was a bar show and we had traveled traverse to different time zones by this point so we were up very late for what we could probably play that like what don't we play it I think we played it like 10:30 or something didn't we or when to music start that night probably yeah like 10:00 10:30 I think unique so you're talking 12:00 12:30 in Minot yeah Bismarck oh sure and then you stay because that's what you do you know like you saying you work together bands and stuff insanity that happened we were it was like - and yeah so the last band starts playing in there they were a ska band and nice CL skankin too tired and we were just standing there dead kind of it's like now about you know close to 4:00 in the morning we're just going yeah we couldn't look more unenthused I mean at one point I was like calling a sleep sitting up and like I put my sunglasses on so I could hide the fact that my eyes are closing like I was like ok back out there and I was like somewhat like rejuvenated but it was just my eyes hurt it was tough it was o'clock our time you know and we had already been doing like to her life for a while and so it was just me retired and then it gets done I had napped in the van - it gets done we eventually get out of there we wait for them because we're following this band to their house let's go to stay with them yeah yeah and we follow him all the way out to his place which is a little bit out of town that was when Blake lost his Nalgene right we're just driving was that that's my analogy and so I'm guess so long gone we get it we get to his place fall asleep in the hottest room I've ever frickin been in we are in tears and wake up and the guy comes down in the morning he's just like ahhh and we want a better like four or five something like that heaven Blake and I we stayed up or just hung out with them for a little bit cuz we didn't want all crash right away when we got there yes didn't want to be rude yeah oh sure sure he comes down he's just like oh you guys went to bed too early man yeah we went over that tower over there and we cut the lock and we went up and watched the Sun Rise super nice people seriously oh yeah the guy that we stayed and danced seriously like what was his band yeah yes like reggae ska yeah I haven't the the singer and lead guitarist like he was using a chair okay and he was like was so bad guitarist so mobile he played a well they trumpet two saxophones that's like yeah and he just ripped it up great singer a great guitarist great apparently they've been playing together for a decade already has been going for ten years so that was fun I mean we've still been going longer but apart from being completely exhausted and hot and sweaty the whole time they did I mean the bar gave us free food and drinks and they paid us really well actually yeah and then after that you drove to where did you go first in Seattle yes what was our first straight to call him yesterday all night to stay with him or oh yeah no you didn't see him yeah we did yeah we just we showed a raptor stuff yeah cuz it was like yeah shower we wanted to get to the show you know because it was like in a couple hours yeah so he went straight to Collins and then to lucky liquor nice yeah where are you played yeah yeah cool cool this sweaty show I've ever played even worse than Bellingham next yeah you're right that was yeah it was so hot and their air conditioning had just broken yeah and so yeah band called Ramona and cones band yeah what's it like I have had breakfast I have had diner dangler ribs they're so good it was a great night and it's like really fun to play shows it really tells a band I'm not the cool part about this series we've spent a lot of time with some really talented bands yeah which is cool oh and another crass graduate that we went to school with came to that show oh really yeah whose name's kealan O'Hara okay nice it was really awesome to see him nice yeah yeah was the was the callin reunion sweet it was pretty beautiful sweet he didn't even recognize me really yeah like when I gave him a hug he's just like hi I'm Colin like yeah yeah you are oh you're Blake shaven no Ian this time around no he broke his foot skateboarding the day before we showed up Dan which was too bad yeah I wish we could have seen that goof what what came after Seattle for sure Bellingham yeah the next day was that great that was a cool shot right yeah really great show was a house show another house chef yeah it's upstairs in the living room so there's windows all around it was just it's kind of cool mm-hmm I specifically liked it because I had experienced a small amount of sexism and so like it was a house full of like 70% girls it was super cool and so it was really nice after kind of a weird time so and then there was really great bands that we played with as well so and the Wednesday the Wednesday's were great oh yeah well attended like as far as like people being there and stuff to you and so it felt really nice to be there and to like play go yeah or the one where Wednesday's the band that sang about the Zodiac killer no girl - yeah they're like seemed like high school ish maybe bit they're a little bit younger in there that was like maybe even the maybe even the first song they played I don't remember so great what you're gonna say something oh I was just gonna say that that was literally the sweatiest it was I was dripping entire time off like any friends he shows every night oh yeah yeah that's all like yeah I was sweaty during the first one I knew I was in for a treat it was used to saw some wet pussy by the end yeah no I put those days behind me and got her what are they bull honks oh God you know what we forgot to talk about Lance where did you see Lance he lives in Seattle everywhere man cool and we saw him three days in a row and then the barbecue and he drove up with us to Bellingham and then in your van or no and then yeah he he came over to my own uncle's house the next day nice yeah I got to hang out with him a lot and that was really great yeah these guys have met him before so I goddamn go feels great yeah okay sneaky cowboy himself yeah boy oh boy sneaky cowboy what happened was I just I was living with Troy and he was really stuck on the couch he came I came home and he was like just sleeping on the couch and I tried to sneak in and he said hey they're sneaky cowboy he was awake and I was like and I laughed really hard phrase and so I said someone should have that as a nickname and enjoy just goes I want it to be Lance and we just started calling him that and it just stuck to jump back here a second the the Bellingham House show was mostly mostly women Jasmine you're saying you experienced a small amount of sexism that's up to that point you have any Torah sexism highlights I like one of the times so two of the times we were introducing like each other you know like to whoever was there Oh accidentally got skipped over twice I'm gonna say accidentally because I hope that's what happened but but wait who skipped over you okay or like or people we were meeting or something and it's always like the people who are at the space who who do it or do those kinds of things it's just like who are running it it's like people are rounding them or something and so and then like some of the other things that happen is I'll get there and they'll be like are you in the band and I'm like yes no they're like like the woman was like see how does a manager like so you're gonna like you're actually gonna get on stage and it almost ones at every place from the time we left will be serious all the way through Belling here would be like are you in the band no are you a queer traveling with the band or like you know like our merch person or something like that and so like but it wasn't just it wasn't like show people I was just like people who are like in this space or something like watching the guys perform the Juniper guys perform and I was approached by this man I mean like I'm often approached by whoever drunk person who wants to talk to me or whatever but I'm and this guy said to me so which one of those boys up there is yours I said I'm actually in the band and you couldn't hear me because they were rocking and then anything he goes which one and finally I just fuckin pointed a Zak I was like that one that's the one and then because I just gave up trying to explain that I was in the band I really couldn't hear me I'm not really ready to say I don't know a guy's just a random guy it's not like that like it should reflect on that town so it was a trick getting drink tickets and it was a trick convincing people that I was actually like in the band and I seriously did get skipped over at least twice like in handshaking and it was more than that like I put myself in the way to like you to be greeted or something like that's not like I just like stand back or anything like I tried to be but it's just it's a weird it's a weird thing I don't know so I was experiencing a lot of that up to that point and I was like finally when I was in Bellingham was like okay a four to one ratio from women to man really so yeah for me it's just a sort of like for a second like a safe like a zone where I was like wow that's probably gonna happen to me tonight that's cool you know like yep we got skipped over that night are you all five the merch boys which which one of the managers kind of well that sucks okay well let's see where we at now so in the barbecue and then Portland thing about yeah yeah oh yeah like a whole damn day with after Bellingham we drove straight down to Seattle and showed up at like 12 or something and in the morning - stay with him - yeah and they let us in and and we went to bed and then we got up and just spent like the whole dang day until like 6:00 just setting up all our gear testing everything huh hoarding writing a song he wrote a song yeah i sat and I had a lot of school stuff too like attend to sorry was still doing school stuff and and fast stuff why not fest stuff so I kind of sat off it oh yeah and it was sort of warm in there so they were just it wasn't really a day off they were working hard cool yeah good it sounds super fun though it was it was that song - rips it's like as as the quitter and what like watching you guys on Facebook posting stuff that was that was my most jealous moment oh sure yeah god damn it they're fucking recording with Johnny unicorn like what yeah what was that what's that song like or like who played who played what Zach Rob and I play guitar guitar okay Evan played bass Josh played drums with some roto Tom's that remains cut out and there's just like rotor tones joke and it ended up working it's awesome so did Johnny play anything he's going to he's going to the plan is I put us alone it yeah he'll add a solo I've whatever I heat his eyes I don't know probably sex phone or note whatever he wants and then I will Rob yeah and then each band recorded two songs as well oh cool cool yeah cool 7-inch yeah we're I mean that's the kind of the idea maybe NASA knows you don't know but something that's weird or something yeah yeah I know the tour is over exactly you will you think I'll put it out at least digitally or something yeah well yeah I'm stoked I'm so stoked for that yeah cool that's wicked mmm-hmm cool okay any other highlights with Johnny and Naomi they made really good cookies and breakfast oh yeah and they were just so sweet I really like the story that I think is like most you don't realize how desperate you get to like see people you know yeah you know sort of like it really means a lot to you when people show up like I think that's one thing that I like that's different and but I think I have a better appreciation if anyone comes to my town I will be there if I could find them right because it just means so much and so like it really meant a lot to us like they came out to our show we came to the seattle show yeah and then like yeah it was again their house was nice and cool and named we made cookies and we just decimated them I mean like what kind No and Johnny gets some great sounds in his yeah oh cool no it sounds nice nice he's a pro it was good to catch up with them too and just spend some time talking Johnny unicorn has played Pangea house more than almost anyone really yeah and so it's good to see him cuz he hasn't come through in a while so yeah yeah yeah it's when I feel like glass I'm I saw him was when we run to her and he came out in 2014 to our show yeah he and Mayo me were the two people in the audience yes the best yeah it saloon how in Seattle yeah got I think it got torn down now or it closed and in Portland it so Washington no go ahead I was going into Portland now well I was gonna say do you guys get any weed non Washington or Oregon before we go to Portland we have to point out that Josh plug the toilet at quality time with the instructions on the toilet were very they didn't really make sense because it's a this toilet is very difficult with toilet paper so flush it twice twice and that's what I did because I used toilet paper and I went out sat down now just like I really picked up a book or something to read and Blake I was barreling out of there god damn it Josh water everywhere thankfully none of my like disgusting feces Zach's family yeah and so you got to see like his cousins let's have him got to spend a day trying to look at Mount Rainier and decide where the elk wasn't it and like also got to see Lance again and we eat a lot of great yeah I was gonna say can we jump from shit to food did you guys do you guys get sushi anyway like it's messed up man we really had good intentions to it we'll get some from a gas station before like when we got to Colorado but the fish and chips got some fish and chips Oh next always yeah in Washington Northwest Pacific cod yeah yeah just falls apart prairie Cod just very prairie cub Wow dang yeah that should be your engrams fishing podcast 17 give up give up all this music bullshit and just yeah we talked about Portland earlier but is there anything else is gonna buy a pro I was pretty crazy we were sitting in this booth and then it was plugged in on the booth right next to us next to the wall which was under a TV and like there's cords everywhere so it's kind of hard to sit there anyway yeah but and so it was plugged in right there and this lady just is on her phone she sits down like on the phone and I think to myself oh no I am in the way I'm going to get my phone unplugged immediately that way it's not in anyone else's way anymore she's there for like one minute the Midwest politeness yeah exactly she's she's there for like one minute and all of a sudden she gets up and she's out the back to her and jazz is like what I think she stole my phone I was like what Trey you know what I do I check right like the 15 seconds you know like under the thing before I accuse anyone stealing of course right you know and then by that time you know like she was with it was someone who had been playing poker up front and the bartender came and asked like if there's anything she could do as she went until go ask like if that guy was still there what it seems like happened was like she was on the phone telling him that she was she had the my phone and then like she just slipped out the back door and he picked her up and I mean I was like I don't feel that bad about it like super Pro feel so stupid because like it was clear that I was a target and instantly personal professional did this so I felt like I was a complete idiot I only lost the Barcade photos that's true immediately like just break to your phone I did yeah I braked it so no no credit card evil person a person I was so angry I was I was like I don't know like truly no idea Lee I'm going to brick my phone like I yeah well they probably just prey on people not noticing right check if your credit card is like Apple pay or whatever yeah like said yeah yeah buy whatever they can yeah it was 10 minutes a except that what they don't know is I'm sort of a Luddite so I don't do Apple pay and I don't pay for anything with my phone and you know like I'm just I use it for Internet and phone sorry they she didn't really get anything except if she can find someone who can unbreak a phone or maybe you know five bucks for that case I bet for many a cracked it was a great show got us that one actually Oh Stimpson do you guys see Stimson no he was classic Stinson he wasn't there yeah of course we had a lot of shows that were like set up by someone that we're working or they book did another show somewhere yeah yeah but yeah huh that's crazy so jumping through Oregon then to you know talk desert bad news I loved the desert the desert was one of my favorite it was awesome it was beautiful it really was beautiful we decided to go through the desert and then ended up I mean like we traveled all day and stopped off at like beautiful beautiful places and took pictures and things like that but towards the end of the night we were still traveling through the desert and we started to run low on gas because I mean we're worried you just stopping at Winnemucca oh yeah Eugene Eugene Michael was the the end goal for this so for like 200 miles there's no gas right but you don't really say that to you or they don't really have signs they're like yeah you know but luckily we were we were like gas filler wrappers anyway so like we sure we pretty much had a full tank but but when you drive 200 miles you know like you start running low oh yeah and we were going through desert getting dark business and I was getting skinned our jars are listening to the Mothman Prophecies and my my earplugs but what is this Mothman Prophecies podcast oh it's just this uh like a recap the unresolved podcast is I'll just talk about like the movie so I mean so I started to get get kind of dire anyways right six kids in a van running out of gas ran over three rabbits so we decide we're like okay well we're gonna like we're gonna veer off here and we're gonna go to den know this next town that's like close to us right so we're like we're gonna try to get gas or even in a small town finally it's gonna be fine and we we turn off and we veer off course and we go to go to dinner to go to Danielle Nevada and we start driving into town after we've driven like three miles or something like that and we roll up on the town and we immediately say I see a building with like a broken window with like the classic curtain floating through and it's true that we know like glowing in the dark creepy drive further into town we see a couple of trailer houses now I grew up in trailers this time nothing against them I love it it's fine but they were sort of dilapidated and they're sort of like you know like kind of creepy and then you drive further and then you have like a church with a single light on is that something like maybe yeah like some candles yes in a church at the very end of the road there was I'm sorry there was like there was one house and it looked like nobody had lived there for well it looked like nobody had really touched the place for like a good 30 years but there was one light on but the windows were all closed up and it made it look like nobody wanted you to see that there was a light on in there right and then and then you you drive further and you hit a dead end sign that says that it's like what was it was the border yeah what to Oregon Oregon yeah back to Oregon okay so it's right on the border and then then where were like collectively all of us are like nope nope we're no we're driving back out of town we're not doing this and then we're like how much how much gas do we have and then someone was like an eighth of a tank is that what I think it was a quad so we decided to reduce our speed to our chances I'm trying to make it to Winnemucca which was a hundred miles no no okay okay but as we were driving along like well also I don't know about you guys I did not have any phone reception like when do you not have phone reception so we haven't had phone reception all day we're running out of cash you run out of gas you're in a haunted town wait no phone reception okay okay but as soon as we got like phone reception like I was charging my phone I was just like okay I have to Google Denny oh I'm sure there was like some triple homicide that happened there are a while back or something I didn't find anything when I just googled Dan yo but I looked up Dan yo ghost naturally so the first result I found was on some like ghosts of America site and do you mind if I just read it to you oh yeah no really the one thing for Danielle says hmm just don't go there it's not ghosts I went through myself and I didn't last long me and my wife refused to sleep there it's not ghosts it's much more than that the only way I can describe it is ellipses evil and I mean that and I'm not one to say things like that category evil ghosts of America calm what's the user name um is submitted by Zachary Thank You Zachary it's like creepy so we feel like legitimate in the fact that we left right now but now we have to drive a hundred miles at 55 miles an hour thinking about this and thinking about the possibility that we might have two hours ahead of you demons following you like 20 miles he just murders around you are like a broken man like he could have killed like six because they just kept like like right at the edge of the road and then in the last like second do it under your tires the spirits of Danielle releasing themselves if any Daniel citizens are listening right now I want to apologize I'm sure you're fine people but but it just seemed creepy to us and so yeah it was just too much to take and then we made it to a gas station of Chevron right outside of just the Winnemucca know where it was out in the middle of nowhere it was like 20 miles from when it was open and it was well known oh sure sure remember how freaked out we were and they're listening to freaking creepy podcast yeah remember how freaked out we were when we pulled in and we saw that big Smokey the Bear fucked Desert madness it was good though we got a nice hotel in oh cool yeah got some blinds in you some bud light lines do ya yep there must be some sort of like mining or something that goes on cuz this hotel is like like set up or this room is set up for like living in so it had like Walmart that was off in a weird industrial district and I'm swim yeah it was nice and then after that it was very very nice that sounds weird you know what it was really helpful I'm gonna talk about pirate radio mm-hmm the Delphic quorum yes drove to Provo yeah to the bar carob be the name of it right now it was great oh yeah yeah there's a cool place and we we met our sound guy known as the wizard Oh though is it with the sound guy I think what Adam was the sound guy or was it the way it was the wizard okay they both were kind of doing it but but I was so and then their band at the end today is the wizard and then there's Judas and then Adam yes and those three make up the Delphic quorum and and they're pretty like eccentric eccentric it's equal parts its equal parts band trombone stage show slap bass theremin and it's all instrumental and it was just like it was it was off the wall yeah and it was super entertaining I really enjoyed it and but yeah they kind of play off of like being like pretty like strange strange days yeah like like a cool like you know yeah and it's it was it was great and and then we played some other cool bands that night then we stayed at the Wizards place mm-hmm the Wizards layer where we slept so good Judas and the wizard do the pirate radio they took they did this thing and yeah provo free radio how closely we can talk about it I think it's on the internet it's down for now they have to do it in a smart way so I hope I do oh oh because so many people are gonna listen to this one anyways so then we played there that was fun Oh blast yeah yeah really nice people yeah nice great now seriously I wasn't entirely sure of what to expect out of Utah I mean like Ana I don't mean to sound too judgmental but I mean uh surely there's like in it's a pretty conservative place you kind of have wonder how a bunch of dirty stinky young traveling musicians are gonna be greeted there but it was just such a great community oh yeah I feel like I feel like Utah has a very special weird side to it yeah which is which is nice yeah it's so beautiful there to ask about oh you saw Ammon oh yeah Salt Lake City show yeah the dream we threw down was amazing that was good sounds across good shakes you're missing it french fries that are really good okay yeah I think at Texas specialty how do you say Hawaii is yeah the restaurant that's what is gonna start it in Texas let's check yeah it's check we started in Texas then they moved up here oh they're from China it's a lot like they're from us all good Perot skis are like it's like she's on steroids oh but they're so diligent I was like homemade bread like a bun like stuffed with a variety of different things so something people had breakfast like ham and cheese eggs in a Kashi or however they say it and then other people add whatever their kind says you guys have hey I have the cinnamon one Texas special or something that was like cream cheese and raspberry and strawberry on top it's pretty much just like you get your your breakfast one like your standard I don't like egg and cheese or whatever sauces and then you get you get the dessert sweet one day just yeah dude I went you know savory I loved how to move well remove one of those like most important things about to her I feel like it's always food oh it's like the most important things are like seen friends and like even food I feel it's pasta it would make some breaks to her Evan how many breakfast burritos did you eat on tour surprisingly few actually good very odd that's that's good because then you're eating like variety pizzas no rush is variety you wanna jump to us up to Colorado how's your anniversary we played we drove a lot yeah yeah it was a really long drive sure played do you play what yeah where'd you play on your anniversary Buller yeah Boulder it's called the forge thanks and it's just like an all-ages run that collectively run a little space that is awesome they got a lot of stuff going on and we had a really good time and really good like you know come out in bands and everybody was ranks came and asked my cousin showed up that was great but yeah I see wrens play a deer rabbit his name his band name and coha he's just the best he's really great so that was fun to see him and then there boy surprised us with a hotel room yeah yeah yeah and so then we got to honestly sleep that was like we went back in like we watched some community and like whatever and then six hours and it was I think the funniest part was that we got you that motel room so you could get away from us and for like the next hour you guys were just texting like Facebook message thread where we even though where we're sitting right next to each other sometimes we send we're on rolling we're starting an internet phenomenon right now and we can explain it later you're working up a new style I mean it is and it's it's a glorious glorious power meum it's very good does someone want to explain area I guess what we're it's once you can excel I was just we were we're driving a boulder and I don't know I was just dicking around the backseat just looking at pictures I had taken out my phone and I found this one at Blake when we were doing the pirate radio show and he looks so pissed off and it just angry so I took the original picture would upload it and then I would zoom in a little bit did a screenshot and then upload that and farther and then zoom in farther and then eventually that night when we got the hotel room for Zach in jazz Zach won up to me and on the last photo he put a caption and right on top of it the captions the clincher yep it's not perfected so we just send those back and forth but filler like an hour we just sent those I laughed and laughed I left and and I we also had champagne like sparkling cider like I am the worst anyways and I don't regularly open things that are like bottled like that and so like and I go to drink it or or I'm accustomed to like like things fizzing over so I go and I like say hey it's our anniversary or here we can share this like sparkling cider at the show and then I go to drink it and it foams over and it just like flips all down my shirt or my dress rather and then all over my base like it's still on there there so like just like yes your sticky base sticky base now I mean you're showing me your phone I show no one can see that it shows I'm looking at a phone that no one can see so here's a bunch of people and y'all look happy and then I'm assuming in and then um because it's zooming in a little bit and then I'm zooming in closer on to Josh and then what's a five and then it's just your face and it says vanity plate and the Juniper drive more like Joshua Thornton and his in that message quite a ways back Oh another thing that we've been getting really is finding really ridiculous t-shirts like so one we found that was I think it was it was like I suggested ad on my Facebook feed and it was like sure and it was North Dakota the flag and it said the United States of America you mean North Dakota and it's 49 bitches the worst that's the worst shirt I've ever heard of doing it on your Instagram oh you do yeah oh yeah yeah I kind of I kind of I kind of saw that you just want to read this keep in mind this is all on a t-shirt yep in different fonts like this is a t-shirt the dumbest thing you can possibly do is piss off my mom she will open the gates of hell and escort your ass right on in and she will do it with a smile sigh just being an asshole the dumbest thing you can possibly do is piss off my mom she will open the gates of Hell and escort your ass right on in and she will do it with a smile on her face this is awful did you see that in real life Robson and you you have to know that this has like five different so much on a shirt I don't account it is like 37 well so a lot of our tropes have just been like like group spin-offs of like those two shirts that no one would possibly ever wear like and then are just so like inflammatory bitches all over it yeah I mean it's just the worst yeah it's the best back to the point our wedding anniversary show is wonderful that's to a hotel room and it was great nice yeah it was data doing memes we stayed with you know Amos right oh yeah yeah he looked up he did he like helped book the boulder and the Denver Chicago yeah and and that was really nice of him and amazing and we got hang out with him in those two days oh yeah and then Denver that day we got up and lakes like he calls us he's like we're coming to get you we got a flat tire though and so we had to deal with that that day and like oh damn we specifically got triple e for this trip yeah yeah okay but triple-a doesn't work unless you're in the van what so like you have to be with the vehicle and we're not with the vehicle but it wasn't that big luckily felt very empowered yeah he's got attacks and they were only like oh cool two miles away so yeah it would have been worse because originally the three of three boys sleep in heaven Rob and Josh was sleeping Isaac yeah you know maybe I'll just go pick up zag and Jasmine bring him back and whatnot oh sure these boys sleep and so this would have been a lot worse if I was by myself which had been my old man because he would have had to unload the entire van to get to the spare tire oh my god so and just then put the thing on and then reload van and then drive it yeah so everyone going on tour if you're hearing this buddy system is what he says didn't you almost get left at a gas station once yeah yeah what's it Josh Rob doesn't Wellstone yeah they almost left me the very back behind the driver's seat is a dangerous place to stay in the bathroom too long and then fuse them on one spot because yeah they look back and like everybody's here all right cool I apparently still haven't gotten over that we bonded over changing the tire though so we it was it's very simple yeah I just had never done it before and yeah it was easy nice we just sat there and we're like just laying around is not changing the tiger it was like the best data that could have happened to you I mean we've done a show we were staying in like Denver we had a show there that day and like it wasn't like we had an eight or nine hour drive or anything yeah it was like 40 minutes yeah yeah we still have time to go to another bar Kade after that yeah nice and Colorado yeah one up one up in Denver but I don't know huh because there was people sounding off in comments after somebody like posted a picture huh do you got a Waffle House oh I'm Colorado Fort Collins mmm nice I've been to that one I think yeah it's the one right by the understand yeah yeah it was great the day before we played in Denver and like that after the tire thing played at seventh circle it was killer venue great venue great shooting for everything like Denver Boulder area like especially from talking to a miss a little bit and like watching kind of what that crew is up to down there like he called in the calling show the other week and yeah and he was like I was I guess there's like a few like two or three yeah I went DIY like type venues down there and he was like yeah there's a bunch of venues and he lists them up and there's like there are so many like cool sounding spots cool and like cool bands it's like yeah I'll move to Denver is able to and like employ a person like oh really that person's job but I don't know if that's true when they volunteers or something - yeah like yeah I think it's like volunteer like collectively run but like a person actually it it was what someone told me in Salt Lake City area but I think Amos was saying something like they're pretty like aboveboard and have all their shit together it kind of yeah yeah cool that's awesome I mean it's cool yeah I can see that someone can actually I mean it's a lot of effort to run and stuff and so it's cool that someone could do it as a job yeah yeah cool house a great show cool a new play not play with gleamer that's at seven what does it go Circle yeah imaginary hockey league from from Maryland we showed up and just got out of the van at the same time kind of that imaginary Hockey League coming out where they're from Maryland Baltimore yeah and we just were talking them and they're like oh you guys gonna get food we'll just come with and we just hung out afternoon and couldn't talk it was really great nice yeah check out the music too just like super nice generic hockey league yeah yeah that's good you know talk about rapid plate did you put mutant planar cave we have played a Rapid City South Dakota there's a it's a it's like a family kind of thing out there like this lady by name Natasha she she owns the the land above an old tourist trap cave pretty much like this area and there's so like I think when they bought it was just like the kind of reception area where you pay you would have paid to get in yeah and stuff like that and there's just like this room you know it's just like this foyer pretty - huh and then you go in the back there's like this green light on you can see and you go back and it just goes down and deep into this cave you open a door and then you enter down the stairs and that's the gate descend into the cave so they bought all this and then built the house on the land it's out in the middle of the woods so there's like you can just as dark as hell and it's awesome and we showed up there kind of late and just hung out a little bit and then we we went to set up and because they were it wasn't we played an after show for this this other show that was happening in town this band called broncho and winter and winter and like so our show is gonna be like the after party and they were at that show so we just we were just at that house alone just hanging out the lights on cuz there's like a breaker box and we just walked around this cave and with our cell phone lights it's kind of creeped up it is awesome I feel like that was even more fun than having the lights yeah I didn't go down a nose like that but I think I'd prefer that yeah it's like driving in Nevada I feel very claustrophobic in CDs you know and so I like to get out in like the wilderness I grew up in the country so yeah for me the city is like very makes me feel unnerved and so when I finally got out to the boonies for a second it was totally and like I love campfire smells my favorite song and it was like and the pines like the pine smelled really nice it was and then some good good old-time adventuring in a cave nice man yeah we did a little bit of spelunking oh did you felt like a jazz but there was definitely lights in there it's not like we were traveling worlds but crawl through a big hole fine or a little hole rather and it was fun Graham you would have been yeah because you had to like climb up through a tiny little hole and squeezed yourself through oh yeah yeah into and then you would like came out until I got a little like gem cave and then you played a wedding yeah they made a day off the next day so we drove we went down to Mount Rushmore that's fun oh yeah cool fuck more it feels a little weird being there knowing history man but we did go see it and and we have some history teachers in the making here so it's important to go see things like that oh sure so yep you didn't seen it before oh no I did but nobody was like six yeah I guess I haven't seen never drove up to Red Lodge Montana and saw a bunch of Minot people that have relocated there and then people that were there for the wedding and got to just hang out for about two days and it does a beautiful wedding yeah short and sweet enough to get a sunburn but yeah yeah doesn't take that much though yeah then we played there rock and roll wedding receptions so cool their bands playing there was a little reunion - it wasn't there yeah yeah yeah we echoes answer played my old band and the original members were there and and then I stepped out as well for one of the songs and the original original guitar player played with them and I was cool - who's that names will huh and yeah he was in with that band he was with them for like a long time and then nice then he quit but you know four years ago now and then I started playing with him in cool yeah it was fun there's surprisingly got through the songs so cool cool that's wicked yeah and then you came back you drove back in a day from who I should say we had really good pizza in Red Lodge in Red Lodge you and I did yes we did everyone else had calzones opposers cookie like we cookie with ice cream get a cookie Rob just exploded with an idea and I'm really curious because you're in a shit like this oh god what is this so Rob came up with the idea of yeah like vanilla ice cream right yeah and then putting baked beans on top that night I challenged them at the gas station yeah disgusting it sound so terrible let it go let it go and they know and we all told them no but no vanilla ice cream with maple syrup good vanilla ice cream with baked beans fuckin ass fuck that okay yeah can't defend himself No we're just gonna turn and now you're now you're back it was three weeks felt like three years it was so I mean for sure like months like I feel like you're like well but like but you do so much that you don't even do in a year you know like you draped all of these things like and have all these adventures and like crazy times even like the bad times you know that it just feels like so much has happened but it made me really appreciative of like home sure time to move so strangely yeah on the road yeah it's lightning fast but it's at the same time you're like fuck yeah what is it over yeah yeah yeah no like now it feels like I went fast yeah oh yeah yeah now being back it feels like it was all a dream almost yep totally no not over yet though yeah tonight you're playing the aquarium tomorrow you play no yata yeah and then tour cook alright Iran on Wednesday oh really as like a final we got a sweet message from Alex Emery yeah they they implored us they thought it was a terrible thing that we didn't have a homecoming show and super C good soda and they said like we could play the blue and and then these guys still quite weren't back at work so I guess we're just making this to her one day longer I'm back at work I'll make it work yeah that sounds fun yeah yeah and our home shows have just been really really well attended oh yeah last night was a riot there are so many people there yeah singing lyrics to that yeah yeah I get excited I know I could singing yeah yeah I could hear it like in the crowd is overwhelming experience yep yep and I couldn't hear myself so hearing that was really nice yeah it was like cuz I was like whoa this is crazy cuz all I could hear was them literally yeah it was so it's really like overwhelming for me nice especially those J Drive songs too I'm sure like some of her like our high school friends hadn't heard that shit in years literally years yep since early high school yeah it was really special because me I don't know if I'm allowed to say this but I'm gonna say it what well why are you looking at me well I cuz you're the host I'm talking to you well so this is basically the send-off for the Juniper Drive I think I mean I mean first we convert Minot if we convince him Oh Robert yeah well yeah cuz he's moving to come in yes yes and and Evans gonna be in Fargo finishing him school and Jay and I are just I don't know what we're doing but pretty much this is like at least for the foreseeable future like like we just finished our record that has been in the making for I mean we're back in yeah like decade and so now it's like we robbed and I kind of set our goodbyes when we finished the record and now this is like saying the final good-bye to the Juniper drive yeah and and so last night it was like really special to me in in like a down-low way like having some of the people that used to go to like Oh totally shows like be there and you know kind of see it yeah and not like Kevin Holmes yeah and it was really special that's great yeah also just like no one knows you anywhere else really you know and so like these are tend to be more well attended so after you've kind of been beaten down for a while out in the real world you come home and like there's people there supporting you and like like more people than you've seen in a long time at a show like it's very it feels very nice yeah yeah it was really special like yeah like thank you everyone yeah cool you really don't know how much it actually means in Richards bday party was can't believe we're turning 30 making 30 terrible so it's gonna be great it's just like an episode of friends you know right make 33 again fuck so future plans I'll ask you first you gonna move to my not just a plan right now you you think you're gonna do that I think so no fucking way yeah huh it just makes sense huh see if mine I can have what are you gonna do yeah you might do the same yeah here we go we're gonna have the house together and a dog and a cat fence and women it's it's gonna be beautiful yeah I guess it's public now turn together and then just stand together yeah yes yeah I just left to record an album or something so the VP fanny plates gonna keep rockin on lookout for the EP LP yeah what Evan what are you doing fuck if I know finishing school and stuff yeah I think the rest of the summer now that the tour is out of the way the kids with beards just recently did a successful Kickstarter so we're gonna have a seat oh hell yeah yeah yeah and Gradstein dad thank you my coche for him like doing it oh yeah but I think right now that's kind of where my Energy's gonna go musically since Roberts gonna be off in the cities I mean I'd still love to jam with you guys at some point if we get the time but I think for the most part for the rest of the summer it's gonna be kind of putting my energy towards that a little bit and I got some books I want to read and me a nice nice I don't really plan too far in advance I feel like every time I've done that that everything's really gotten fucked up you know so we'll see if you'll finish school and then see where yeah yeah exactly sweet what what are you doing try and sell our house yeah there we go we might never ending to them cuz it for so long yeah it's all up in the air we'll see what the world brings us so you have a lot of changes happening in our in our immediate life here so we're gonna try and get rid of our or our house maybe buy a new house and just take care of snuggle our dogs and let's get this record we would really get this record that's gonna we're gonna just take it easy with Fanny play for a while and just like work on hopefully getting recordings done oh why not has it's coming up yeah you wanna talk about fast a little bit how you doing with that you you stressin Justin I know once we get back which is we will honestly it was like because yeah we just like planned better this year than we planned last year as far as like like being away and stuff um oh sure and like expectations were handled as a group was like far as like when we were gonna like get out the schedule and things like that and so the schedule has been out and I just saw like yeah it looks awesome myself yesterday like it's like you know Facebook shows you like what you were doing last year and last year I was still talking about maybe getting scheduled up so you know okay past me as like I'm see how I'm feeling worried I saw that and I was like yeah yeah so so we have the schedule and I yes it does look really good I'm so excited about what's on it and and so far you know very minimal problems with it which is like usually when you post it there's about like 12 people that write back to you're like ah that doesn't work anymore like no you know and you know I thought it just hasn't really happened and I'm gonna hate myself for saying this I'm gonna knock on some wood right now and but but um you know people so far haven't needed mini changes so it's been fairly uneventful which is nice she welcomed change I welcome the change yes minimal friction something I call feste testy yes and so I get like irrationally mad and I have I only felt that in me so far oh I've been June has been feste testy free so far nice so nice that's great mhm and the the dates are August 12th through the 14th with the kickoff show on 11 good year awesome I mean it's like it's shaping up to be a very excited about it well what did I miss what should I ask yes yeah we totally forgot to mention Dale oh yeah we stayed with Dale and bill yes love Dale house Dale doin he's good man yeah it seems like he's doing really well it's probably the most positive I've seen him in a long time nice yeah I don't know it's just really nice seeing him yeah I missed him um kind of the North Dakota connection I also forgot to mention that apparently uh Colin's roommate ambrosia her her brother is like works as a coach at NDSU or something like he yeah he's the specialty Costco yeah huh for the in this NDSU football team which I don't know I just thought that was funny like all the way out in Seattle and yeah you still got a North Dakota connection with somebody you just don't know dude yeah honestly weird like once you travel around how many connections to North Dakota you find yeah yeah like when we were out in Portland and everybody was drunk upstairs and then Zach and jasmine eventually came back I was like downstairs like trying to book rooms and Boulder for them and what cute oh yeah but this guy this guy came up and sat next to me on the steps and like offered me some cigarettes and company like yeah why not sure I'm a little drunk high and and and I talked to him about to her and whatnot and he's like dude I'm from mile city and my girlfriend is from North Dakota she's weird and yeah and so he was like talking about all these cities and like his connections with that and he's like yeah my girlfriend's upstairs and I'm about to go up and whatnot and so we what we walk up and they live in the apartment right next to Miriam's oh that's weird and like the girls know I the girl she was hanging out with when we first came was his girlfriend and is like also from North Dakota she's from North Dakota he's from North Dakota just you know random people yeah but yeah of course the North Dakotans would fight the North Dakota's yeah that bass player for uh for Dan's band - he said he he lived in North Dakota for a while unlike me no no no the first band Oh Jason from yeah that was like great yeah yeah Sam vega's guitar player - he lived in Fargo what when he was a child but he still live there with his family but that is that another thing it's like about going at it is like people just must not think like North Dakotans play music or something cuz like they're always I like underdog I don't know what it is yeah but they come through and tear shit up yeah that's a great time and don't want to be over but ready to be home yeah yeah sure I'm excited to see your dogs again to know where our bed is for the night no that's nice do we do e I am Adele but yeah it's another story so and you're turning maybe and I fall I think in the fall but with mr. dad I think brothers do a little car we're gonna try and go out to Seattle we'll see if that hangs nice um if not maybe down at Denver or something something that we can do within like a week span because the members you know have families and sure jobs that need them to be there unlike mine and so hopefully we're gonna do that though yeah with cool log are they coming to Fest you know agree we'll be in Chicago with her other band um that she plays saxophone in called fucking Oh awesome but Zack will be at why not fess with his band Miami Miami Dolphins oh yeah okay cool yeah that's excellent and then you guys when are you gonna tour again that's a good question never I mean the 10th anniversary I can't remember to her we already planned this out nice all the same venues all the same dates all the time insanity yeah gotta bust him he played the same garage in Missoula Oh God Graham like yeah some I I have to say I'm sorry Nora you knew you knew whatever I mean we were talking about like how much of a redemption to her this has been for us okay last time we were just in the gutter the entire time yeah yeah it was horrible but this time has been nothing but a dream yeah I felt like it was gonna be that way for you guys yeah I was kind of scared well I mean I was really scared right rightfully so were you yeah oh yeah oh really how so like quit my job and oh yeah traveled across the country drums oh that's ballsy I like it yeah definitely paid off I mean before you came up to mind that we had hung out yeah three times maybe like you know like one that fest maybe a couple shows like Grand Forks and then at when you guys came oh yeah Pizza a lot of pizza at your place and my first memory and I was it was on the we were playing Duff Mountain that late that one night you remember that really Oh disaster night and you everyone was screaming and scratchin and sweaty the insane the insane wandering fest yup yeah it was like the best show ever like my first memory of Zack is he was standing right next to me while I was playing drums and he just looked down he's like you're tight just nodding an approval then we hung out a couple shows but then when we actually sat down with each other the only time ever was I was I was like high on pills or I was low on Tylenol PM and I was going in and out of consciousness an accident jazz accidentally gave me 10 p.m. during our show before we played because you had a crazy headache and I was like oh absolutely and so they drugged him it was I mean he literally was like hi he was like having a conversation at the table and it was like oh and it was like oh gosh looking at me and I was like the closest you'll see him drunk ever very good yeah I remember driving back to Chilton and we were trying to order pizza and I was talking to Zack and he would like talk to me and then immediately just drop out and I looked at it back Wow yes I've never seen that man especially when you wake up in the middle until he's actually like place to sleep did you just say weird shit you know I was nervous about this tour a little bit Rhea yeah because well you quit two months before it no what was gonna happen yeah and like and this was the only thing that I had been putting my time towards for the last yeah at that at that point for the last like two months I've been doing nothing but focusing on the tour and so when that happened I was like it was like it was like there was a death you know and it was like it was like super hard yeah and and like shocking and like everything else that comes with that and then we just had the the rest of us just kind of had some good talks on the phone you know and Josh jumped on board you know upgraded from make sure I knew you would do it that's fair you know I knew I knew I knew you'd do it I knew you would do it really well there was perfect I knew you would be a fucking rock you know yeah more than I would be at that point like I would have been I would have been a shit show unto her and you were reliable selfish it was a perfect opportunity yeah yes you deserved it more than I did well he did almost kill us a few times yeah I was the only one who honked on this to her yeah you honk when you cut people that guy changed lanes in the middle of the intersection wins the award for being the worst at distracted right the best distracted driver can tell you right now that I would be worse than you expecting I can get a place going on Spotify I love distracted driving I've seen all the people yeah yeah I'm a very good driver you read you read on the road oh yeah yeah do you remember the scenes where they're driving through and like what's-his-name doesn't even have his hands on the wheel they're just kind of going and staying in a straight like Sal Paradise it was fine we just Dean or whatever didn't have his hands on the wheel it just kept going straight no big deal that's the way I like to drive just elaborate about nothing and they're probably drinking too and though yeah and everybody's naked in the car every yeah yeah do you drive naked at all no pants some shirts taking off Washington I'll have naked driving it so no nudity okay yeah no you see got time that's true yeah wink Fargo Fargo be good last time Fargo comma be good last tour was a total disaster but when we played Fargo at Dempsey's I was oh it was my birthday and I that's right that's right it was a huge bar tab yep and it was incredible yeah yeah I would love to yeah yeah I can't imagine it's gonna be yeah they read the nachos you know cool well I feel like I've taken a whole bunch of your time and I really appreciate you guys come in and talking to her it's a super fun yeah we're done here ya know if there's more stuff you know we get back on tour yeah Coke's Pizza Broncos what's your plan for getting a loose go find Robert are you gonna we should definitely I am so thank you so much reflect on your experience and then talk about it because it helps solidify it it's therapy yeah especially for me so I should have send me updates that's true that's that was real remember nice thank you guys you were put together a little singing booklet thing where we have the tour updates and then or any other writing or photos that you could took oh and then and you should do the memes because the thing about the memes is like I don't think they would work on the internet which is like so right reverse I mean backwards of the way you normally think about it but like you showing them to me on your phone like you can't really do that on mine but if you had it as almost like a comic you know yeah I like the like different blocks and it's good yeah flipping pages with the you would actually get like the the sense of surprise if the page turn was in the right spot you know what I mean yeah exactly I think she did tour zine I know we can transcribe this whole podcast and put it in there Chuck job insert coffee slurp well it's uh damn it trying to find the clean ending here okay thanks guys let's go get some fucking lunch okay stack them on three
