Guided by Voices Starter Pack Vol. 2 (1994-1995)

Guided by Voices Starter Pack Vol. 2 (1994-1995)

I am going to convert you. By the end of this series of starter packs, you are going to love Guided by Voices as much as I do. I listen to these songs and get chills. I listen to these songs and get weepy. Pollard & Co. changed my life, they were a key that opened my heart to a whole new pattern of art-thought.

Starter Pack Vol. 2 focuses on the arguably most condensed era of GbV, 1994 to 1995, when they released the monumental works Bee Thousand and Alien Lanes. Also included is King Shit & the Golden Boys (which is basically tracks that didn't make it on Bee Thousand) and a few EPs.

While we're at it, honestly, you should check out the 33 1/3 on Bee Thousand cuz it's nuts. Not only is it music journalism at its finest, it's also a god damn manifesto. POWERFUL STUFF.

Because of licensing reasons surrounding mixes that contain only one band, Mixcloud won't allow me to post my radio-ready version of this playlist, but whateverrrr here it is on Spotify:
